Strix is a web system for managing knowledge, based on proved Open Source solutions in business environments - - Linux, Apache, php, PostgeSQL and some other projects, which transform this portal into powerful platform.
How and why it was developed, which product did we use, what did we learn and why did we decide to publish source code under GPL licence and at the same time live on that. These are just some of the non-technical questions that we shall try to answer.
Workshop will be very useful to those who intend to implement Open Source solutions in business environments (with the intention to clear the delusions about inferiority of free solutions). It will also help those developing teams, who wish to develop their solutions based on other >Open Source projects (subversion or cvs, viewcvs or something else, mailing lists, wiki?), as well as those, who do not wish to repeat our mistakes.
Meanwhile we shall install Strix, make a structure of new web portal in mind mapper programe and the result will be a portal, ready for entering new contents. |
