Managing hundreds of mission critical servers dispersed through wide area and abroad can be difficult task, especially if one has limited human resources and is on tight budget. After long search for the system for centralised management of remote servers, cfengine was selected and just fits the task. While requiring steep learning curve and intimate knowledge of managed operating system and without pretty GUI it is the only tool to get the job done. In presentation we will show what cfengine is and why it was selected in our 24/7 mission critical set-up.
