IBLOC 2005 - Speakers

Ric Shreves
CEO

Ric Shreves has been involved with the Internet since 1995. In 1999 he began Dots&Loops, a Hong Kong-based web design agency which was one of the first in the region focused on building custom content management systems. In 2001, he joined Inetasia in Bangkok Thailand where in his role as the Director of Product Development he led a programming team in the development of a powerful proprietary content management system which is now used by a number of enterprise clients in the region. While conducting research for the proprietary CMS system, he discovered the Open Source CMS Mambo, and was so impressed with the product and the Open Source movement’s potential to shake up traditional proprietary software development business models he left Inetasia to form Water & Stone, a web design house focused on Open Source Content Management technologies.

He has built CMS-driven websites for a wide range of clients, including: BASF, Colgate-Palmolive, CBRichard Ellis, FPDSavills, Tesco, Amari Hotels, and the PGA, to name but a few.

Ric has an extensive history writing and speaking on technology issues. His weekly technology column for the Bangkok Post has been running for almost 3 years, and he contributes regularly to a number of regional and global publications. From 2000 through 2002 he was a featured speaker at the Internet World conferences throughout Asia and was rated a “5 Star Speaker” -- the conferences’ highest rating.

You may view part of his extensive written technology portfolio by visiting http://RicShreves.Net. You may view his web portfolio and client list by visiting http://www.waterandstone.com.

Ric currently lives in Southeast Asia and divides his time between Bali and Bangkok, Thailand.
