26. 06. 2007 - International Business Linux and Open Office Conference

Less than a decade ago, GNU/Linux and the Open Source Software were considered a domain of enthusiasts. The introduction of such solutions into production IT infrastructure of companies was accompanied by scepticism as only the select few were able to tame such installations. There was almost no commercial support for these solutions.

»Server« setups with Open Source software for e-mail delivery, routers and web servers were located in inaccessible premises with an almost forgotten physical location. People began asking how it was possible that such solutions in dusty corners and under layers of dust could still operate excellently after so many years. Their end was usually brought about by hardware, dusty fans in the power supply unit, etc. At the time, the outdated equipment needed to be replaced and the following question arose; to buy commercial software for the same purpose or reuse the Open Source Software?

Was the shift in thinking necessary among the general public for it to begin using Open Source software that was equal to the commercially available software? Was such a scenario necessary for the whispering in companies saying »Linux, Linux« to change into the louder daily expression?

Today the reliability, stability, scalability and the possibility of efficient customisation of the Open Source software are available to every one. If you are not yet completely convinced of this, take part in our annual event where we make believers out of a greater number of business users every year who make a shift to the Open Source software, exchange our experiences and take a look at the latest novelties in the field!

You are cordially invited!
